Outdoor Recreation in the Great Sodus Bay Area

Free outdoor concerts every Sunday afternoon, at the Sodus Point Lighthouse, overlooking Lake OntarioSodus Point offers annual year-round activities and events.  During the summer: afternoon outdoor concerts at the Sodus Bay Lighthouse Museum, on the bluff overlooking Lake Ontario, parades and fireworks every 4th of July weekend, and ongoing festivities around the point that are open to the public including the annual Sodus Bay Yacht Club's Antique Boat show and nautical flea market.


Book a charter and participate in the fishing tournaments though-out the season. Or fish off the pier at Sodus Point or at Maxwell Creek. Great Sodus Bay and Lake Ontario boast some of the finest freshwater fishing in the country and around the world.

Sailboats and watercraft of all sorts and sizes paint the landscape with color and excitement. Whether watching or riding, Great Sodus Bay and Lake Ontario are thrilling! The finest and best equipped marinas welcome boaters from near and far.

Take a picnic lunch to the sand beach in Sodus Point and relax while the kids swim under lifeguard supervision and play on the playground at the beach. The 2007 season boasts a new bathhouse.

Autumn around Great Sodus Bay

Every Fall Alasa Farms offers "Pick-n-Picnic" between Sept & October During apple-harvest season, bring the family to Alasa Farms and pick your own apples, enjoy a picnic on the farm overlooking Sodus Bay, visit the animals, take a hike, or spend the weekend camping out.  Hiking Chimney Bluffs is a rare treat. Visit this gorgeous monument to Mother Nature and let yourself be awed by the beauty of these windswept peaks. While you're on that side of the bay, shop at Orchard View Country Market.  Dine at Skipper's Landing.




On the waters of Great Sodus Bay

Water Fun Ice Boating is a favorite pastime on Sodus Bay in the WinterThough boating, jet skiing, & water skiing is a favorite pastime in the summer on Great Sodus Bay and Lake Ontario, the area's beautiful winters bring out cross-country skiers to the fabulous trails. Ice Fishing and Ice Boating are very popular on Sodus Bay during the winter months.
